Six performances!

 WEDNESDAY SHOW #1

Today was our first time preforming our adaptation of Six to a live audience and it went very well with minor slip ups, which was impressive as this was our first time doing it to a live audience.

We started the day by all getting there early so that we all had time to get into costume and get our hair and make-up done in our dressing room. Once we were all ready in costume and makeup, we all headed to the main stage so that we could start our warm ups for the day so that we could be warm and ready to start the final run through and show.

Warm Up - we started with a physical warm up today so that our bodies were warm before we sung. For todays warm up we did the cha- cha slide, which was very fun and allowed us all to efficiently warm up whilst also having fun, which kept the positive energy going for the show. After we finished our physical warm up, we then went on to do our vocal warm up, which was lead by Chloe and Molly, who are our singing captains of the course. We started doing shoulder rolls and head rolls, along with massages for our face muscles. After this we then did some breathing exercises, which included breathing in for four, holding for four and then out for four. We continued this for 6 and 8 counts. After this we then went on to do some tongue twisters, for example red lorry, yellow lorry. After these we then went on to doing some sirening of the word sing and then some scales for our vowels. We then did some number scales, which included the 1 1 2 1 exercise.

After everyone was warmed up, we then went on to run ex-wives so that we could do a sound check and lighting check before we let the audience in. After all this was done the audience was let in and we then waited for the show to begin.

In my opinion, I did well in this first show as I only had a minor slip up during no way where I accidently used the wrong hand when it came to one move, but I continued to do what I was doing just so that it was not as obvious. When it came to the singing for this show, I remembered most of my harmonies, and only slipped up on ex-wives. In ex-wives I lost what my harmony was for one of the sections, however I kept singing and just joined the tune so that I was at least singing throughout.

My goals for the next show are to make sure that I have less slip ups in the show and also remember all my harmonies, so before the next show I plan to look over my harmonies so that I know what they are and can become more confident in what I am singing.

THURSDAY SHOW #1

Today was our next two shows that we were going to perform of our adaptation of Six the musical, and these ones were going to be with a paying live audience. In my personal opinion they went very well.

Today we didn't have to be in until later on in the day cause our first show was not till the afternoon, so that meant that most of us could have a lie in. However, once we came in we had to get straight to our dressing room so that we could get ready for the first show, and this included all of our hair and makeup and also costume. Once everyone was ready we then went on to do our warmups before the first show.

Warm Up - we started with a physical warm up today so that our bodies were warm before we sung. For todays warm up we did the cha- cha slide, which was very fun and allowed us all to efficiently warm up whilst also having fun, which kept the positive energy going for the show. But this time we split the cast up so it became a competition, which made us all a lot more energised compared to last time. After this we also did some stretches just to make sure that we were fully warmed up.  After we finished our physical warm up, we then went on to do our vocal warm up, which was lead by dolly. We started doing shoulder rolls and head rolls, along with massages for our face muscles. After this we then did some breathing exercises, which included breathing in for four, holding for four and then out for four. We continued this for 6 and 8 counts. After this we then went on to do some tongue twisters, for example which witch would wear which watch. After these we then went on to doing some sirening of the word sing and then some scales for our vowels. We then did some number scales, which included the 1 1 2 1 exercise. To then finish up the singing warm up, we then went on to do a song, which was called panther on the runway, which was very fun and entertaining.

After everyone was warmed up, we then went on to run ex-wives so that we could do a sound check and lighting check before we let the audience in. After all this was done the audience was let in and we then waited for the show to begin.

In my opinion, the second show went just as-well as the first one that we did, if anything better. For me I had less slip ups and I noticed that my vocals were becoming a lot stronger in terms of my harmonies for all the songs that we have to sing. I had a lot of fun performing this show and the audience was great.

For the next show my targets were to work on my facial expressions so that they are readable to everyone even the people sitting at the very back of the audience. But overall this show has gone the best yet.

THURSDAY SHOW #2

Today was our next two shows that we were going to perform of our adaptation of Six the musical, and these ones were going to be with a paying live audience. In my personal opinion they went very well.

As we had all ready done a show before this one we were all warmed up so we did not need to do anymore warmups, but we all made sure that our hair and makeup was re done so that we all looked our best for the next show.

Before the second show begun all the queens went out to do a sound check to make sure that all the mic's were still working and properly. After this we then went on to let the audience in and get the next show started.

Personally I believe that this third show went very well and just as good as the one we did before this one. When it came to my performance in this one I noticed I was not as energised so and neither was my performance, so I knew this would be something that I would need to improve on before I do the next shows tomorrow.  But other than that, I think that the shows went well for me today and I performed out to the audience to the best of my ability.

FRIDAY SHOW #1

Today was our last day of shows that we were going to preform of our adaptation of Six the musical, and they both went very well and I am very proud of all the effort that everyone put into them.

Today we didn't have to be in until later on in the day cause our first show was not till the afternoon, so that meant that most of us could have a lie in. However, once we came in we had to get straight to our dressing room so that we could get ready for the first show, and this included all of our hair and makeup and also costume. But this time we split the cast up so it became a competition, which made us all a lot more energised compared to last time. After this we also did another song that made sure that everyone was full of energy ready for the day ahead of us.  After we finished our physical warm up, we then went on to do our vocal warm up, which was lead by Rosy and Melisa. To then finish up the singing warm up, we did the song I like the flowers, which we did in small groups overlapping each other which sounded very nice and left us all feeling excited for the day ahead of us.

After everyone was warmed up, we then went on to run ex-wives so that we could do a sound check and lighting check before we let the audience in. After all this was done the audience was let in and we then waited for the show to begin.

Our forth show went amazing!! I did not mess up once which I was very proud of, along with this my singing of my harmonies had become a lot more confident which I was very pleased with. Seeing the audience clap after the show made me feel very proud and reminded me how much I love theatre.

If I had to say if there was anything I could improve on for the next show it would be to put more energy into my performance so that it could be more enjoyable for everyone watching. But other than that, I am very happy with the quality of my performance.

FRIDAY SHOW #2

Our final show is done!! It was very emotional as this would be the last time that we would ever do six and perform it to an audience. The show went so well and I put all my energy into it to the point where I was very tired after. I loved performing six and can't believe how well we have all done in terms of how we have all improved along the way.

Cant wait to do more shows with Suffolk One.
