Six progress

 This week, when we had our six rehearsals, we recorded videos of the work we had been doing and the progress of some of the numbers. By doing this it allows us to reflect on work we have done in class not only individually but also as a whole group. So here i will be talking about the progress we have made on each of the numbers we have recorded.

HOUSE OF HOLBEIN

When it came to the house of Holbein we had three different takes which can be seen here;

In the first run through, you can tell that as a cast we were not putting in the effort that we should have been along with some people being unclear with the steps. This is not the standard we wish to preform at so we worked on improving it in the next couple takes. For me personally when it comes to take one i believe that i could have put a little more effort into what i was doing and could have gone over the steps before i began, and we could have also done that as a cast.

In the second video, you can tell that our energy was slowly improving however some were still unsure of actions and movements and the energy was not as high as it could have been. Along with this the singing was not very strong, which i believe if we went over the singing before hand it could have been a lot stronger vocally. For me personally i think that i could have put in a little more energy and learnt off my parts in the singing aspect confidently.

When it comes to the third and final take of this number you can tell that our energy has improved a lot and is now nearer to the standard we wanted it to be at. As a group we worked together through these takes to learn off the moves we needed to along with the singing, that is why such a big difference has been made. Personally i think that i did very good in this take as my energy was a lot higher and my confidence with the moves was better.

EX-WIVES

For ex-wives we only took two takes as we knew this one better and more confidently than the other one so we were quicker to pick up what we needed to do. I personally believe the work we did in these two takes was good, but could be a lot better with polishing and also rehearsing more.

In take one the movements and the focus of the group was not very strong but we all clearly knew what we were supposed to do. The singing was also there but could have been done a lot more full out. Personally i believe that i could have made my arm movements and movements in general a lot stronger and this would have made the piece more effective. As a group i think we should have kept our focus a lot more as this would have aided the piece to becoming better.

In take two of this number we were a lot better. Most people knew their moves and it was done well. When it comes to the work i did, i was in the back line. Due to our part being changed a lot it was unclear what we needed to be doing so this was why our bit did not look as good, but after this take it was rehearsed and polished off. In this take, i think that i put in a constant energy while keeping up the singing to the best of my ability, and to improve i could have gone over my bit more times to make it cleaner overall.
